But, since hanging out with friends and people you love has always been something known to boost levels of happiness, combining exercise and friends or partners, simply makes sense.
Whilst some people still prefer to work out alone simply because it can help them stay focused, we’ve got some great benefits for training with a partner.
The gym, treadmill or an open road can be lonely sometimes, so adding a partner can add some fun and a slight distraction from the pain and intensity. Working out with a friend can even lighten the atmosphere, allowing you to perform more vigilantly.
Working out with a partner can add a small level of competition and accountability. Exercising together will push you to work harder and be more consistent, however, be sure to partner with someone who is at the same, or a similar fitness level, to prevent you or them from pushing too hard.
As previously mentioned, working out with a friend adds accountability for those days when you don’t feel as motivated, or you feel just good old lazy. A friend will also make sure you’re pushing yourself at just the right level, and encourage you to go further.
